On March 29 a big sports festival dedicated to the start of the Beringia 2020 sled dog race was held in the village of Milkovo. The governor of Kamchatka Territory Vladimir Ilyukhin took part in it. The participants set off on March 1. According to preliminary estimates, they will have to cover a distance of about 1100 kilometers. The route of 2020 is divided into 15 stages.

The main icon of the Russian Navy – the icon of St. Apostle Andrew the First-Called – arrived in the Kamchatka Naval Cathedral. In honor of this event a prayer meeting was held, in which the Kamchatka Territory Governor Vladimir Ilyukhin, and Commander of forces in the northeast of Russia, Rear Admiral Alexander Yuldashev took part.

The first meeting of the working group on improving legislation in the field of development of aboriginal peoples living in the region was held in Kamchatka.

The exhibition "Volcanoes and the Space" began its work in Kamchatka. The exposition is located in the cultural and educational center "Volcanarium". The exhibition was opened by a Russian Test Cosmonaut, Hero of the Russian Federation, Oleg Artemyev.
